Program overview
Earn your bachelor’s in Accounting at Brooklyn’s oldest private college. Graduates of the program regularly land enviable jobs at the prestigious Big Four accounting firms, Deloitte, EY, KPMG, and PwC, as well as other large corporations, banks, brokerage houses, manufacturing firms, retail establishments, government agencies, and non-profit groups.
The B.S. in Accounting offers two tracks, the 151-credit CPA track and the 121-credit non-CPA track. Students enrolled in the CPA track have the opportunity to pursue a dual B.S./M.S. in Accountancy, which means earning both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in just five (5) years.
Underlying the focused, outcomes-driven curriculum is SFC’s robust General Education Program, which is the cornerstone of SFC and affirms its mission to graduate educated, well-rounded individuals who enter the workforce and work to change and culturally diversify the world.

The accounting curriculum is designed to develop students’ technical expertise, analytical skills, and professional competencies needed for success in today’s dynamic business environment. Students gain a strong foundation in financial reporting by learning how to prepare and interpret financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and auditing standards. The program also emphasizes the integration of modern accounting technologies, providing students with experience using industry-relevant computer software and emerging AI tools for accounting and business procedures.
In addition to technical knowledge, the curriculum develops strong research, communication, and analytical skills. Students engage in professional research projects and learn to present complex financial information clearly through both written reports and oral presentations.
