Human Rights Lecture with Jochen Fried on Why Global Citizenship Matters
No matter which of the defining challenges for mankind’s future – climate disruption, depletion of natural resources, forced migration, loss of biodiversity, untenable wealth disparities, etc. – they are all transnational in nature. In this lecture, Jochen Fried, Ph.D., President and CEO of the Global Citizenship Alliance, will address some of the competing arguments for and against global citizenship.
Global Citizenship Alliance is an organization committed to promoting education for engaged knowledge and responsible action in an interdependent world. Prior to assuming this position, Fried was director of education at Salzburg Global Seminar. He was a lecturer at Cambridge University and Ljubljana University, and a visiting scholar/Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence at various universities and colleges in the U.S., including Smith College, San Jose State University, Bronx Community College, and Morehouse College.
This event is hosted and organized by the SFC International Office.
