u.s. News Ranks St. Francis a Top Regional College in the North

U.S. News & World Report has again selected St. Francis College for its list of Best Regional Colleges in the North, moving the College six slots higher than on the previous list. St. Francis was also ranked the 4th Most Diverse Regional College in the North.

New Semester Brings New Students, New Courses, Classrooms & Web Address

Terrier Tuesday marks the start of the 2011-2012 school year at St. Francis College. All incoming freshman are required to attend the day-long event which gives them an up close look at all the club, Greek and athletic opportunities St. Francis has to offer. Students also participate in games, team building and ice breaking exercises to jump start their participation in the social community of the College.

From 116 entries, more than twice the submissions for the first prize two years ago, St. Francis College is proud to announce the six authors on the short list for the second $50,000 Literary Prize awarded to a mid-career author.

Professor Michele Hirsch Named New Assistant Academic Dean

St. Francis College announces the promotion of Psychology Professor Michele Hirsch to Assistant Academic Dean for the start of the Fall 2011 semester. Dr. Hirsch will be working closing with faculty at the College, specifically with Department Chairs in areas like department assessment and reviewing the College's core curriculum. Among her other duties will be overseeing the experiential learning program, portfolio reviews, working on retention issues and coordinating adjunct professors.

Three New Promotions at St. Francis College for Allen Burdowski, Richie Coladarci and John Ragno

An emphasis behind the creation of new opportunities for students, faculty and administrators stands as a core reason for three new promotions at St. Francis College this summer. Dr. Allen Burdowski is now the new Dean of Academic Program Development, Richie Coladarci now serves as Assistant Vice President for Human Resources and Organizational Development and John Ragno is the College's new Assistant Vice President for Finance.

When St. Francis College sophomore and Staten Island resident Krystelle Khoury was crowned Miss Lebanon Emigrant USA 2011 in May, she earned the winner's tiara, and a big responsibility, to represent the Lebanese community in the United States.

Sister Colleen Colbert, o.p. Honored With St. Clare Medal of Service

On Wednesday, June 29 faculty, staff and administrators gathered for a warm farewell at the retirement party for Sister Colleen Colbert, O.P., who served as Assistant Director of St. Francis College Campus Ministry since 1999. President Brendan J. Dugan '68 honored Sister Colleen with the St. Clare Medal of Service in recognition for her hardworking service to the community and her years of cheerfully encouraging so many in their spiritual development.

It was a record setting year on the links at the 12th Annual St. Francis College Meadow Brook Golf Outing as golfers and their families and friends raised nearly $270,000 for St. Francis scholarships.
