Dr. Houlihan received his AB degree from Hamilton College in Clinton, NY, and his Master's and Doctoral degrees from Binghamton University. His dissertation focused on the transformation of the building trades in New York City from 1890 through the First World War. Dr. Houlihan's primary research interests are in labor history, and in media representations of working people during the Progressive Era. He is also interested in collaborative teaching initiatives. Dr. Houlihan also serves as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.
