Our Academics & Student Life

A springboard to success and innovation

St. Francis College is reimagining our academic programs to position our students to be the critical thinkers and leaders of the 21st century global economy and empower their social mobility. Vital components to that goal are the rigorous academics and robust student life that Terriers have relied on for more than 160 years.

Academics

Through SFC Forward, the College is strengthening its flagship programs, such as Accounting and Nursing — programs with proven track records of job placement and career growth. Simultaneously, we recognize both shifting demands in the education sphere as well as the emerging fields that our students can be poised to become leaders in.

In order to better serve our students, St. Francis College is investing in remote learning opportunities available to students, offering more courses fully online and in hybrid formats to be a more accessible, hospitable learning space for non-traditional students and prepare all students for today’s workplace environments.

The College is introducing five new undergraduate degree programs available to students, including:

  • Bachelor of Art in Interdisciplinary Studies
  • Bachelor of Science in Exercise & Movement Science
  • Bachelor of Science in Community Health
  • Bachelor of Science in Educational Studies

Additionally, the College will offer four new graduate degree programs:

  • Master of Science in Exercise & Sport Science
  • Master of Science in Special Education
  • Master of Science in Sports Management
  • Master of Science in Public Health

St. Francis will also offer students a new minor program in Human Rights, and is developing degree programs in competitive, in-demand disciplines including Computer Science, Data Analytics, Finance, Neuroscience and Bioethics.

Key to the College’s new academic vision is a restructuring of our current academic departments, ensuring that faculty spend as much time as possible teaching and our students reap the benefits of learning across complementary disciplines.

Student Life

St. Francis College is committed to the vibrant student life that comes with an education in the heart of New York City. SFC Forward allows the College to deepen its dedication to nurturing the intellectual, interpersonal, physical, moral, and spiritual development of its students.

SFC’s new home will meet the needs of our growing community with modern, flexible classrooms, labs and research facilities. The new inspiring, natural light-filled offices, study and gathering spaces refresh the physical environment and will support both remote and in-person work while still offering opportunities for shared community experiences.
