On September 20, 2012, St. Francis College celebrated Constitution Day with a presentation by the St. Thomas More Pre-Law Society that compared the Constitution of the United States with those of the Republic of Serbia and the People's Republic of China.

New York Times Op-Ed Columnist Frank Bruni spoke about why the best candidates for office don't run and offered advice on how the political debate can be made more civil as the featured speaker for the Thomas J. Volpe Lecture Series on Thursday, September 27 at St. Francis College.

The St. Francis College Honors Program honored the group's long time moderator Dr. Francis Greene at its opening event of the fall semester with the inaugural Francis J. Greene Honors Lecture on Monday, September 17.

U.S.News & World Report has again selected St. Francis College for its list of Best Regional Colleges in the North.

Last May, Marisa Bernard won a giant check worth $1,000. The check was literally large – several feet long – but the public speaking skills she gained were an even bigger reward. These skills have already had a measurable effect on her career.

The largest incoming class of freshmen students in St. Francis College history begins their college career on Tuesday, September 4 with Terrier Tuesday, a day for the more than 625 freshman to come together socially and learn about all the clubs, organizations and extracurricular activities St. Francis has to offer.

"How we educate future project managers and how we conduct our research into best practices needs to be grounded in reality," said Dr. Barbara Edington, Director of the Center of Excellence in Project Management, which helped plan the colloquium along with the Project Management Institute, the leading membership association for project managers.

Chair of the St. Francis College Management Department Dennis Anderson and Center of Excellence Director Barbara Edington recently co-authored an article on the benefits of project management for Microsoft's TechNet newsletter.

Today project managers practice their profession in a dynamic range of industries; from local government to media and even environmental conservation. At the Center of Excellence in Project Management we strive to keep up with the latest opportunities and trends.

In July of this year, PMI's Research and Education Conference was held in Limerick, Ireland where both academics and practitioners assembled to hear about the recent research and current trends in the industry. Dr. Barbara Edington was a collaborator on a paper with lead author Dr. Thomas Lechler entitled, "Exploring Contextual Conditions of Project Uncertainties and Project Value Opportunities.
