A message from President Miguel Martinez-Saenz

Under the terms of the agreement, graduates of Bronx Community College with an associate degree in science in the biology option may transfer to St. Francis College and, after two years, graduate from SFC with a Bachelor of Science in biology. Those who qualify will be eligible for renewable scholarships (of $14,000 annually), merit-based aid and need-based aid from SFC.

The group of animals consisting of tiny blob-like life forms having no organs and just a few cell types finally has a fleshed-out family tree, thanks to a team of researchers including Michael Tessler, Assistant Professor of Biology at St. Francis College.

The Curriculum Committee at St. Francis College recently approved major changes to the Communication Arts curriculum to help attract more students and better prepare them for careers in a constantly shifting media landscape. Faculty also voted to change the name of the department to Media and Communication.

On November 17, St. Francis College welcomed Antonio Reynoso to campus. The Brooklyn Borough President sat down with SFC President Miguel Martinez-Saenz for a conversation that touched upon the former’s upbringing, the value of education, how he embarked on his career in public service and more.
