In July of this year, PMI's Research and Education Conference was held in Limerick, Ireland where both academics and practitioners assembled to hear about the recent research and current trends in the industry. High Scores for St. Francis Management Students

Students in St. Francis College's Management program have again achieved top rankings in Glo-Bus, a competitive simulation of the digital camera industry that is widely used in advanced courses by colleges and universities worldwide. Students were ranked against the scores of over 2300 similar company teams from 145 colleges and universities around the globe who were simultaneously competing during the Spring semester.

Miscarriages of Justice and Wrongful Convictions: Failures of the Judicial System From the People Who Were Wronged

In a semester long series, St. Francis College Sociology and Criminal Justice Professor Emily Horwoitz explored times, past and present, when the United States system of justice fell short. Miscarriages of Justice and Wrongful Convictions: Historical and Contemporary Flaws in the U.S. Criminal Justice System began in January with a look at the Salem Witch Trials and Modern American Witch Hunts and came all the way to the present with visits from recently exonerated people like Bernard Baran who spent 22 years behind bars for crimes he never committed.

Out of more than 2,700 students at St. Francis College, a group of four professors singled out five young women to honor their academic excellence with an annual Student Recognition Award. The honorees cross disciplines, including a Biology major, an English major and three Education majors.

St. Francis Athletic Director Named to Prestigious List of Women in Sports

The Women's Sports Foundation (WSF), in collaboration with espnW and Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT), today released its 40 FOR 40 list of forty women, including St. Francis College Director of Athletics, Irma Garcia, who made a significant impact on society after playing sports in high school or college during the forty years of the Title IX era. The honorees will be recognized as part of a 40 FOR 40 event on June 21 at the JW Marriott in Washington, DC. The supporting sponsor of the event is Scripps Networks Interactive.

St. Francis College Launches Institute for Peace & Justice

St. Francis College, with Catholic Charities of Brooklyn and Queens proudly launched the new St. Francis College Institute for Peace & Justice with the panel discussion, "Moving Beyond the 'Culture Wars': How Catholic Social Teaching also Can Enlighten Current Partisan Debate on Basic Questions of Poverty, War, and Social Justice" on May 1 at the College.
