High School Students Participate in Two-Week Summer Science Academy at St. Francis College

Two dozen area high school students are immersing themselves in hands-on scientific learning at St. Francis College, thanks to the two-week Summer Science Academy organized by Dr. Kathleen Nolan, Chair of the Biology and Health Promotion Department, who started the annual program nineteen years ago.

In the Spotlight: Taris Pittman '20, Summer '19 Intern at Mediacom

As a member of the St. Francis Women's Volleyball team, Taris Pittman '20 is used to putting in hard work on the court. But this summer, Taris is seeing another side of sports entirely. The Washington, DC-native is interning with MediaCom, a global brand-building communications company, in its Sports and Entertainment unit. She shared how she landed the gig and what's she learning there.

She recently discussed her background as a poet and what she hopes to accomplish at St. Francis College.

St. Francis College Hosts Brazilian Students for Summer Session in Exchange Program With SFC

Six Brazilian University students are calling St. Francis College home this week, as they participate in an exchange with SFC that brings them from the classrooms at 180 Remsen Street to the halls of the United Nations. A group of SFC students will head to Brazil later this summer for a two-week course focused on economics, politics and business.

Women's Basketball's Dana Direnzo & Men's Golf's Nick Nemergut Named Nec Scholar-Athletes of the Year

The Northeast Conference (NEC) announced on June 18th that St. Francis College Brooklyn women's basketball's Dana DiRenzo and men's golf's Nick Nemergut have been named 2019 NEC Scholar-Athletes of the Year. DiRenzo was one of four female student-athletes in the NEC to receive the honor, while Nemergut was one of three males to earn the award.
