Walt Whitman scholars and enthusiasts from around the globe gathered at St. Francis College on May 27th to kick off International Whitman Week, an annual series of events commemorating the birth of the renowned 19th century poet who called Brooklyn home.

St. Francis College Class of 2019 collected their diplomas during a Commencement ceremony on May 23rd, at Ford Amphitheater on the historic Coney Island Boardwalk.

As she prepared her Spring 2019 Commencement keynote speech, Michelle Miller, Emmy-award-winning co-host of CBS This Morning: Saturday, shared her thoughts on St. Francis College students, her college years at Howard University, and her advice to students looking to forge careers in journalism.

Six exemplary St. Francis College students each received $6,000 scholarships at a dinner and awards ceremony on April 24th that commemorated the completion of this year's Project Access program.

Dana DiRenzo (BS/MS, Accounting) and Arianna Sartzetaki (BA in Political Science and Economics) are this Spring's co-valedictorians. Amal Hawari (BA, Communication Arts) will deliver the Spring commencement ceremony's welcome address.

Gabriella Pagan takes the top prize at this year's Delaney Speech contest, for her speech entitled "Anxiety: Conquering What Cripples."

St. Francis College President Dr. Miguel Martinez-Saenz is among the college presidents just named to the Board of Trustees of the Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities.

St. Francis College has been designated one of the nation's Military Friendly® Schools, based on an evaluation of the college's success in ensuring its student veterans graduate and go on to good jobs.

St. Francis Brooklyn men's track & field junior Romario Thomas was recently accepted into the highly competitive and prestigious Harvard Stem Cell Research Institute (HSCI) Internship Program (HIP). Thomas, a biology major who holds a 4.0 GPA, was selected amongst a large candidate pool of 600 students and was just one of 34 who earned a spot in the rigorous program.
