The Inauguration of President Miguel Martinez-Saenz

"Every time he speaks, everyone in the vicinity stops by to listen and learn," said Alexander Baum '18, President of the St. Francis College Student Government Association.It's a sign of the energy and passion that Dr. Miguel Martinez-Saenz brings to campus every day. Now, after 17 years as a professor and rising academic leader, Dr. Miguel Martinez-Saenz stands at the pinnacle of his career, the 19th President of St. Francis College. Beginning January 17 and running through January 27, the College community will participate in a series of events to celebrate the inauguration of President Martinez-Saenz.

From Albania to Brooklyn Heights Valedictorian

When Kejsi Shkreta '18 first came to New York from Albania, she left behind a country that was enjoying a new openness to the world and its first taste of democracy. Her parents worked hard to give her the opportunity to attend high school in the United States and she took full advantage.Now as Valedictorian for the Class of 2018 Winter Commencement, Kejsi (pronounced KAY'-cee) will share her story and words of encouragement with her fellow graduates on Tuesday, January 16 at St. Charles Borromeo Church.

Volume 5, Issue 1 of Assisi features contributors from right here in Brooklyn and as far away as Detroit, San Jose, Turkey and New Zealand.

The words of poet Maya Angelou were the first ones uttered by President Miguel Martinez-Saenz to a standing room only crowd of prospective students and their parents at the St. Francis College Open House in October. #SFCgivingtuesday Raises $152,000+ for Scholarships and More

What began with a walk to bridge the tuition gap, continued on Giving Tuesday with a full day of appreciation for St. Francis College benefactors, and a major e-campaign and phone-a-thon. One week later, St. Francis College is proud to announce that the Giving Tuesday campaign raised more than $150,000 dollars from more than 500 donors, a new high water mark for a day meant to refocus the holiday season on helping others.
