The Brooklyn Ballet Company returns to St. Francis College on April 29th to perform Ballet Then and Now, a program reflecting more than a century of music and choreography.

The fights and falls on daytime Television add spice to our favorite soap operas and for Jake Turner, a professor at St. Francis College, it may also add an Emmy Award after being nominated for a Daytime Emmy in the Outstanding Stunt Coordination category.

When most people think about the major battles that brought victory to America in the Revolutionary War they tend to look south of New York, but St. Francis College Professor Richard Berleth tells us in his new book, Bloody Mohawk: The French and Indian War & American Revolution on New York's Frontier (Black Dome Press) that those battles may never have been fought if not for the pivotal, fierce and oftentimes overlooked frontline fighting that continued in New York State.

St. Francis College has been recognized as one of the top Baccalaureate Colleges in the North for 2009 by U.S.News & World Report in its annual survey of the nation's colleges. The magazine also listed St. Francis as the fifth most diverse Baccalaureate College in the North. These rankings come a few days after Forbes.com included St. Francis in its new America's Best Colleges list, placing SFC in the Top 5 in New York City.

St. Francis College Psychology students Danielle Petrosino, Victoria Gallarello, Sandyrose Rolon, Avalene Persad, Antonia Arsenlis and Stephanie Meja were awarded the Florence Denmark Award for Outstanding Poster at the annual Pace University Undergraduate Psychology Conference on May 10th. The students presented their research entitled: "Evaluation of Personal Web Pages with High and Low Levels of Disclosure."

Colleges across the country are constantly looking for ways to make sure every student that enrolls at college stays until they graduate. St. Francis College has devoted many of its resources to the problem and now is being recognized for the innovative ways the College is tackling the issue of retention.

St. Francis College will be home to Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence Vaneshran Arumugam from Cape Town, South Africa for the Spring 2013 semester as he brings his artistic, social and scholarly skills to the St. Francis Community.

Fifteen area high school and college students tested their business mettle at St. Francis College's second annual eCamp, a five-day bootcamp from August 5th to 9th that exposes budding entrepreneurs to the nuts and bolts of starting businesses and culminates with participants pitching their business ideas to SFC faculty and guests who vote on their favorites.
