				St. Francis College is pleased to welcome Paul O'Brien, J.D., incoming Executive Director of Amnesty International USA (AIUSA), the nation's largest grassroots human rights organization, as the latest guest in the inaugural season of the SFC Human Rights Lecture Series. He will join Miguel Martinez-Saenz, Ph.D., President of St. Francis College, in conversation on April 22, 2021.

							Nursing Students Assist Staffs in Newyork-Presbyterian, the City's Top-Ranked Hospital
				Fifteen junior and senior baccalaureate SFC nursing students signed on for part-time jobs as student nursing assistants, and another eight first-year students and sophomores as nursing department runners, at NewYork Presbyterian, helping staffs in those hospitals handle the patient surge triggered by COVID-19 this winter and spring.

				Dr. Khalil Muhammad from Harvard University was the March 24, 2021 guest in Terrier Talks, and participated in an hour-long, wide-ranging conversation with SFC President Miguel Martinez-Saenz and students that delved into a host of issues he sees as having contributed to sustaining systemic racism in the United States.

							Looking Forward to Fall 2021
				Come September 2021, just over one-half of all courses will be taught in person in classrooms and labs at 180 Remsen Street; our library, cafeteria and other campus facilities will be open for the SFC community; we will host live special events including those with guest speakers; and student clubs and organizations will be able to meet on campus.

				Rep. Hakeem Jeffries was the featured guest in this year's Thomas J. Volpe Lecture, an annual event that brings world-renowned leaders from politics, business, entertainment and the arts to speak before the SFC student body. The online event attracted an audience of more than 200 people.

							St. Francis College and Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce Partner on Degree Completion Program
				St. Francis College will offer BCC employees and their family members scholarships that they can use to complete their undergraduate or graduate college education at SFC. The scholarships will also be available to employees and family members of BCC's 1,874 member organizations, which include businesses of all sizes located or working in the borough.
