Two dozen area high school students are immersing themselves in hands-on scientific learning at St. Francis College, thanks to the two-week Summer Science Academy organized by Dr. Kathleen Nolan, Chair of the Biology and Health Promotion Department, who started the annual program nineteen years ago.

Repast Baroque Ensemble to Perform Baroque Compositions From Dresden's Golden Age at St. Francis College's Concerts at Half-Past Twelve
Concerts at Half Past Twelve returns for the second performance of the spring series, with members of the acclaimed Repast Baroque Ensemble performing music from the Golden Age of Dresden, a period in the early and mid-eighteenth century during which composers in the German city created some of the most timeless Baroque music.

St. Francis Choir Director Dr. John Motley Passes Away
Dr. John Motley, Director of the St. Francis College Choir for 14 years passed away May 22 after a long illness. In the 1960's, as Director of Music for the New York City Public Schools, Dr. Motley formed the All City Concert Choir. For two decades, the group sang at venues like Radio City Music Hall, Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center; for dignitaries including President Jimmy Carter, Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir, Pope John Paul II and Mayors Abe Beame and John Lindsay; and with musicians like Dizzy Gillespie and opera singers Marian Anderson, William Warfield and Camilla Williams.

St. Francis Students Explore Idea of Hate Through Drama
A collection of St. Francis College students presented a deeply moving and personal production with a focus on hate in our society in their two performances of Israel Horovitz's The Indian Wants the Bronx and their original production How We Got That Way, in the College's Maroney Forum for Arts, Culture and Education on December 9.
