St. Francis College Celebrates International Education Week

With a student body that comes from more than 70 countries and a rich learning curriculum that brings diverse global perspectives into the classroom, St. Francis College is pleased to join higher-education institutions across the nation in celebrating this year's International Education Week (IEW) from November 16th to 20th.

St. Francis Student Wins Writing Scholarship

St. Francis College Psychology major Katharine Diehl '13 has just written her own ticket to an amazing summer experience, literally. Katharine submitted five of her own poems and a letter of recommendation from English Professor Wendy Galgan to Skidmore College for a chance to make it into the 2012 New York State Summer Writers Institute Scholarship Program. She was one of 36 writers from a pool of 375 offered a full scholarship to attend the second of two, two week workshops at the College.

St. Francis Hosts Undergraduate Math Conference

More than 120 mathematicians from across the Northeast descended on St. Francis College April 24 for the 5th Annual Spuyten Duyvil Undergraduate Mathematics Conference. The conference, hosted by the St. Francis Department of Mathematics had a strong College presence with 10 talks and two posters presented by students and professors from St. Francis. In all there were more than 40 talks spread out over 12 topical sessions.

St. Francis College Celebrates Spring Commencement

It was a day of celebration for the friends and family of more than 300 students at the spring 2009 St. Francis College Commencement on Wednesday May 27 at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge. The group includes the second class of Accounting Graduate Students in school history. Several hundred people who were unable to attend viewed the ceremony live on the St. Francis College website.

Winter Commencement at St. Francis College

In a continuing trend, St. Francis College is pleased to graduate one of its largest winter classes in the schools almost 150 year history. This winter 127 students received their diploma, just two less than the biggest class ever. The number of winter degree earners spiked about 30% five years ago and has maintained steady since then.
