Earlier this month, St. Francis College co-hosted an event with the Brooklyn Transition and College Access Centers, a division of the New York City Department of Education and community partner that supports students in need of academic, social-emotional and vocational accommodations.

On April 28, St. Francis College celebrated the 139th anniversary of the granting of its charter with a convocation in the fifth-floor auditorium, marking the first time Charter Day was held at the College’s new Downtown Brooklyn campus.

“Order My Steps,” a short film directed by Augusta Palmer, chair of the department of media and communication at St. Francis College, and written by Kathryn Grant, an instructor in the department, will premiere next month at the Women Deliver Arts & Film Festival in Kigali.

Update: The Senate has confirmed President Joseph R. Biden's nomination of Sparkle L. Sooknanan ’02 to serve as a district judge on the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.

SFC is one of seven Catholic institutions in New York State that were recently awarded a five-year $3.5 million grant by the National Science Foundation’s Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP) program.

The Fellows Program will bring to SFC during the 2022-2023 academic year five professionals with expertise in human rights, global anti-Muslim racism and Islamophobia, ethical and spiritual dimensions of human rights, politically and socially engaged art, and digital media and broadcasting.
