Two graduates of St. Francis College’s M.F.A. program in creative writing published books last month.

"The Blues Society" — a documentary directed by Augusta Palmer, associate professor and chair of the Media and Communication Department at St. Francis College — premiered on October 29 at the Indie Memphis Film Festival, where it was an official selection, screened to a packed house and won the audience award in its category.

On October 21, St. Francis College officially unveiled the Palla Pavilion, named after Dr. Anil Kumar Palla, the chairman of University Hub, one of SFC’s international recruitment partners.

Earlier this month, the German academic publisher De Gruyter released “Digital Islamophobia: Tracking a Far-Right Crisis,” by Emily Lynell Edwards, an assistant professor in the Digital Humanities Department at St. Francis College.

The short film, directed by Augusta Palmer, chair of the Media and Communication Department, and written by Kathryn Grant, an instructor in the department, will make its national debut this weekend at the Bread and Roses Film Festival.

Today, Fortress Press released “Crucified: The Christian Invention of the Jewish Executioners of Jesus,” by J. Christopher Edwards, professor of religious studies.

The second art exhibition of the current academic year is set to open tomorrow in SFC’s fifth-floor gallery. It will feature illustrations, paintings and drawings by the late Brooklyn-born artist and author.
