On Thursday, May 18, St. Francis College will hold commencement exercises for approximately 500 students.

Earlier this week, MadHat Press released “Filthy Creation,” the latest novel by Caroline Hagood, assistant professor of literature, writing and publishing, M.F.A. faculty member and director of undergraduate writing at St. Francis College.

On April 28, St. Francis College celebrated the 139th anniversary of the granting of its charter with a convocation in the fifth-floor auditorium, marking the first time Charter Day was held at the College’s new Downtown Brooklyn campus.

St. Francis College recognizes and celebrates the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities at SFC and beyond.

The event — hosted by the Fashion Club and featuring original apparel designed by SFC students — highlighted the students’ creativity and entrepreneurial skills, with a focus on cultural representation.

The April 17 ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new television studio, which is equipped with the latest industry-standard software and hardware, was preceded by the inaugural First Take Talk, featuring Mitch Jacobson, the studio's designer and an SFC Franciscan Fellow.

On April 11, the SFC Art Gallery hosted a reception to mark the opening of “Dare, Denounce and Draw,” the first-ever art exhibition at St. Francis College’s new home, in Downtown Brooklyn. The exhibition features the work of Pedro X. Molina, an internationally recognized political cartoonist as well as the College’s current Franciscan Service Fellow in Human Rights.
