A new study co-authored by St. Francis College Sociology Professor Emily Horowitz shows that black and Latino students who attend private Catholic colleges in the New York City area are much more satisfied with their college experience than those who attend comparable CUNY schools.

More than 75 graduates from the Education Department came to St. Francis College, May 30, as part of an effort to help build a stronger network of alumni which will benefit past, present and future students. The graduates and professors came together with the goals of developing school partnerships, creating a graduate honor society chapter, and building a job bank.

With more than 170 submissions from mid-career authors, the jury for the $50,000 St. Francis College Literary Prize will certainly have a busy summer. The short list for the prize will be announced August 15 with the winner to be announced at the opening gala for the Brooklyn Book Festival on September 22.

With tuition under $20,000 and the estimated starting salary for graduates at more than $45,000, St. Francis College has been ranked by The College Database as the best private college in New York State for financial return on investment and in the top five overall.

St. Francis College is proud to announce that more than 400 students will again graduate at Spring Commencement, keeping up the record setting growth from a year ago. Joining this class at the Brooklyn Academy of Music on Tuesday, May 14 will be two-time Super Bowl Champion, New York Giants and Founder of Tuck's R.U.S.H. for Literacy, Justin Tuck, who will deliver the Keynote Address.

St. Francis College Management Majors proved their mettle on an international stage, with every team of students ranking near the top for the spring semester Glo-Bus, business simulation competition.

New York Giant All-Pro Linebacker Justin Tuck challenged the more than 400 St. Francis College graduates as the keynote speaker at the College's Spring 2013 Commencement, May 14 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

A committee of St. Francis College professors from across disciplines awarded thirteen projects on Student Recognition Day at the College, recognizing excellent academic work presented in a wide variety of mediums on May 2.

St. Francis friends and alumni showered their support on the College April 17 at the 52nd Annual Charter Award Dinner, raising more than $650,000 for scholarships as well as the Terriers for Terriers Disaster Relief Fund.

The 15th Eileen C. Dugan Memorial 5K Fun Run was held under beautiful, blue skies with a breathtaking backdrop provided by the Lower Manhattan skyline. More than 300 runners came out on the morning of April 6 to help raise money for The Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy.
