The finishing touches are being put on the new Psychology lab at St. Francis College and professors and students alike are already overflowing with ways to put the new software and hardware to the test.

Brooklyn Heights, NY - Every year, millions of people across the world are infected by intestinal viruses that cause debilitating diarrhea. New research into the preventative powers of cranberries and Concord grapes by professors at St. Francis College shows promise to help fight these viruses and to shorten tens of thousands of hospital stays in the United States and possibly prevent thousands of deaths worldwide every year.

Nearly 300 students from St. Francis College received their diplomas and a hug from College President Frank Macchiarola '62 at the spring commencement ceremony Monday, May 21 at the Brooklyn Marriott.

St. Francis College celebrated the 123rd Anniversary of New York State granting the college a charter last Friday with more than 150 alumni and special guests in attendance.

More than a hundred students, staff and community members filled the Maroney Forum for Arts, Culture and Education Monday for the annual Yom HaShoah observance at St. Francis College. The guest lecture, "On the Holocaust and Forgiveness," was presented by Professor Andrew Kelley from Bradley University.

For St. Francis College junior Chemistry Major Michael Estrella, Orlando, the home of Disney World was definitely the happiest place on earth last week. He won first prize for the NOBCChE Undergraduate Research Award Competition after presenting his research at the organization's Annual Conference. Not only did Estrella take home the $1,000 cash prize, but he was also offered a $60,000 job at chemical engineering company Rohm and Haas.

St. Francis College conferred an Honorary Degree on alum William Parrett '67, CEO of Deloitte & Touche at the College's annual Charter Award Dinner held at the Pierre Hotel, Tuesday, April 10.
