Ben Model is one of the nation's few specialists in silent film piano accompaniment. He regularly performs for movies Dr. Scott Weiss screens for his St. Francis College classes and for the community.

On December 5th, Artist Daphne Arthur will lead a discussion about her life and work at the closing reception for St. Francis College's Mirror Mirror on the Wall..., an exhibition of contemporary portraiture, figure drawing and sculpture by established and emerging artists from the Lise Curry Art Collection.

The Professor John J. McCabe '65 Lecture Series Part 2: A Conversation with Jason Calacanis took place on Tuesday, November 19, at Morgan Stanley's headquarters. The lecture series exposes the St. Francis community to perspectives on financial topics from leaders and innovators in the world of finance and economics.

On Giving Tuesday, St. Francis College alumni, faculty, staff, students, and friends are asked to donate to SFC's Fund for St. Francis – the College's annual fundraising campaign -- and to spread the word for others to do the same. This year's initiative, the College's 5th year participating, is supported by an anonymous matching-dollar commitment up to $50,000.

On November 13, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends of the college attended the 2019 Alumni Reunion Celebration at The Water Club in Manhattan, to celebrate our Women's Leadership Network Executive board.

Encouraging the audience to not merely tolerate but accommodate people from cultures other than their own, Charles D. Smith, who retired from a 10-year professional basketball career in 1997, delivered a Volpe Lecture on November 20th that extolled the life-changing effects of global travel and meaningful cross-cultural relationships.

Highlighting the unique ability of New York area Congress members to collaborate with each other across party lines, United States Representative and St. Francis College alumni Peter T. King '65 (R-NY 2nd District) spoke about growing up in New York City and his career in elected politics to a nearly 200-person audience at St. Francis College on November 18th.

Community leaders and experts will address the hazards of smoking – including traditional and electronic cigarettes ("vaping") – at an annual event on November 21st organized by St. Francis College and NYC Smoke-Free.

Zaeeda Walters life is one of service. She is a proud Navy veteran, part of a growing number of individuals with military service who enroll at St. Francis College. And she aspires to continue to serve, through a nursing career focused on pediatrics.
