Winter Commencement at St. Francis

More than 120 St. Francis College students and their families crowded into the Anthony J. Genovesi Center, Wednesday, January 30 for the College's Winter Commencement. The number of students who walked the aisle to receive their diplomas was the largest for a ceremony that continues to be an increasingly popular alternative to the traditional Spring Commencement.

In Defense of Arthur Miller: New Journal Features Rebuttal to Recent Media

He's been called "the moralist of a generation," but the legacy of American playwright and icon Arthur Miller took a hit last year after an article in Vanity Fair. Now in the new issue of the Arthur Miller Journal (Vol. II, No. 2, St. Francis College), Christopher Bigsby, the noted Miller scholar, offers a spirited defense of Miller and the relationship between the father, mother (Inge Morath) and their son, Daniel.

Ranking the New Global Players

St. Francis Professor and Management Department Chairman John Dilyard for the past year has been at the center of a major new initiative sponsored by the Columbia Program on International Investment that will identify and rank the largest globally-active multinational corporations from emerging markets (MNEs). For the first time, businessmen, investors and scholars will know the names of hundreds of companies across all industries that are competing worldwide, even against the largest companies in the United States, Europe and Japan.

Million Dollar Gift a Holiday Treat From John and Mary Mccarthy

St. Francis College is the recipient of a major pre-holiday treat from alumnus John '51 and Mary McCarthy. The McCarthys pledged 1 million dollars to the College to help St. Francis continue its educational mission.

St. Francis Launches Emergency Notification System

In the continuing effort to keep St. Francis College a safe and welcome environment for all 2,300 students, faculty and staff, the College is pleased to unveil a new emergency notification system. In the event of an emergency, the system, run by the company, 3n, allows St. Francis to contact each student and employee immediately in up to seven ways including text, voice and instant message as well as email. Each person selects the best way for them to be reached in an emergency.
