Four of Five Scholarships Go to St. Francis Students at Trinidad and Tobago Alliance Annual Awards
It was a great day last Sunday for four St. Francis College students from Trinidad and Tobago. Careen Fletcher '08, Dawn Kim Alves '07, Shelly Mohammed '08, Adanna Tshai Jones '07 were four of the five college students recognized for their academic success by the Trinidad and Tobago Alliance at their 30th Annual Scholarship Awards Luncheon.

Andrea Mitchell, Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent for NBC News delivered the Thomas J. Volpe Lecture on Global Business and Finance to a packed auditorium of 300 people at St. Francis College Founders Hall this Monday.

St. Francis Honors Scholarship Winners
When a student receives a scholarship, many times the name attached is just a faceless person who is either being honored or contributed to the award. At St. Francis College on November 15 at 6:00pm, scholarship recipients and the benefactors who made the gifts possible will come together for an annual reception.

St. Francis Students Compete in Monetary Policy Contest
The actions of the Federal Reserve are highly significant to the national and global economy but they remain a mystery to many. That's why every year the New York Fed hosts the College Fed Challenge to teach students from the region about how and why monetary policy decisions are made. This year, five students at St. Francis College are taking part in the challenge on November 7, going up against almost two dozen other schools in the areas.

St. Francis Students Write and Edit New Book
A group of St. Francis College students will have more than just their degrees on their resumes when they leave school. They are also accomplished authors. Seventeen student participants of Professor Terry Quinn's Creative Writing Workshop recently had more than 30 short stories, poems and one-act dramas published in the new anthology, From the Heart of Brooklyn – Volume Two (Vivisphere).

A packed auditorium of lawyers, researchers, mental health professionals and advocates came to St. Francis College all day Friday to learn about mental illness and the courts.

St. Francis College Expands Opportunities for Senior Citizens
St. Francis College is pleased to announce an exciting new array of services for senior citizens throughout New York City. Grants from the New York City Council have made it possible for St. Francis College to offer Tai Chi in the school's brand new fitness center, additional use of the swimming pool, computer classes, writing classes, lectures and movies.

Dr. Allen Burdowski Named Associate Dean for Graduate and Professional Studies
St. Francis College is proud to announce Dr. Allen Burdowski is now the new Associate Dean for Graduate and Professional Studies. Dr. Burdowski is currently the Chairman of the Biology Department, Chairman of the IT Department and Director of the Faculty Center for Curriculum and Technology.

New Academic Center Ready for First Full Year
When students arrive for classes September 6, many of them will take seats in state-of-the-art classrooms, an HDTV Studio and Edit Suite, computer lab or theater. It's the first full school year that the $20 million Academic Center will be used for St. Francis College students.
