St. Francis College has been designated one of the nation's Military Friendly® Schools, based on an evaluation of the college's success in ensuring its student veterans graduate and go on to good jobs.

St. Francis College will offer BCC employees and their family members scholarships that they can use to complete their undergraduate or graduate college education at SFC. The scholarships will also be available to employees and family members of BCC's 1,874 member organizations, which include businesses of all sizes located or working in the borough.

A new Fellows program launching this year will bring professionals who have expertise in human rights and diversity issues into the St. Francis College community, helping enrich the College's academic curriculum and learning opportunities for students.

St. Francis College appointed Hayley B. Dryer as Vice President and General Counsel, effective August 23, 2021. Dryer reports directly to Miguel Martinez-Saenz, Ph.D., President of St. Francis College, as a member of his cabinet.

Man Booker Prize Winner and National Book Award Finalist Marlon James will return to St. Francis College as an instructor in the College's Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing program this summer, joining a roster of accomplished professional writers guiding students fully online.

Shaka King, director and co-screenwriter of the 2021 Academy Award-nominated film "Judas and the Black Messiah," will discuss his work and career with screenwriter and playwright Ben Snyder, the dramatic writing coordinator for St. Francis College's MFA program, on May 6 at 7 p.m., as the latest guest in the College's Write in Brooklyn discussion series.
