Famed Nazi hunter Simon Wiesenthal faced a major moral question in his book, The Sunflower; an SS officer on his deathbed confessed to committing numerous atrocities and was now asking Wiesenthal for forgiveness, what should he do? That real-life scenario was the core of the talk by Philosophy Professor Jeffrey Bernstein at the annual St. Francis College observation of Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, on Thursday, April 16.

St. Francis College is pleased to announce an exciting new array of services for senior citizens throughout New York City. Grants from the New York City Council have made it possible for St. Francis College to offer Tai Chi in the school's brand new fitness center, additional use of the swimming pool, computer classes, writing classes, lectures and movies.

As St. Francis College students settled in to their new routines for the fall 2014 semester they all heard some good news about the college; U.S.News & World Report has once again ranked St. Francis as a Top Regional College in the North.

St. Francis College held its Winter 2020 Commencement on January 21st, with approximately 75 of the winter's 150 graduates taking part.

St. Francis College continues to train its faculty on advanced skills to educate students online, thanks to an innovative certification program the College launched last year.

For years, St. Francis College's Education Department has been training new generations of educators, offering undergraduate degrees in childhood and adolescent education and physical education that prepare students for graduate school, professional certification and fulfilling jobs in primary and secondary school settings. Since spring 2019, the College has graduated 47 education majors.

SFC announces a new STEM Success Collaborative (SSC), a five-year initiative funded by the United States Department of Education (DOE) to boost enrollment and graduation rates of Hispanic and low-income students in SFC's STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) fields.

The Fellows Program will bring to SFC during the 2022-2023 academic year five professionals with expertise in human rights, global anti-Muslim racism and Islamophobia, ethical and spiritual dimensions of human rights, politically and socially engaged art, and digital media and broadcasting.
