Civil Rights Versus National Security
The decades long battle against terrorism has changed the way people think about their personal security and the freedoms they enjoy. St. Francis College Professor Yassin El-Ayouty tackled this question and the compromises we face with an expert laden panel for the event, Civil Rights Versus National Security, Exploring the Tension Between These Two National Values in a Globalized Environment of Insecurity held October 7 at St. Francis.

St. Clare & St. Francis Week Concludes
A week-long celebration of the Franciscan spirit concluded Saturday, October 4 with a collection of St. Francis College students volunteering to arrange floral decoration for senior citizen shut-ins around Brooklyn. The flowers were donated through a partnership with the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership and elderly service organization, Heights and Hills.

Giving College Students the Extra Help They Need to Succeed
With a $15,000 grant, the National Grid Foundation is showing its support for the College's Project Access Program, an initiative at St. Francis College that provides extra tutoring, mentoring, and monitoring for students who may not be entirely ready for the college experience.

Snowboarder Kevin Pearce Shares the Crash Reel
With a snowboarding gold medal in sight, Kevin Pearce suffered a traumatic brain injury after a gruesome fall and began a never-ending fight to recover. He shared his story at St. Francis College September 23 and showed part of a documentary on his struggle, The Crash Reel.
