History Professor Sara Haviland spoke about the role of race and politics in the unearthing of an African Burial Ground in Lower Manhattan in the 1990's during her lecture for the Fifth American Studies Colloquium held on November 4 at St. Francis College.

St. Francis College Sociology and Criminal Justice Professor Emily Horowitz wrote a piece for The Huffington Post entitled, "Manufacturing Fear: Halloween Laws for Sex Offenders." In the article she writes about new laws and proposals that are aimed at reducing a threat to children that she says does not exist.
