Promotions, Tenure Granted to St. Francis Professors
The St. Francis College Board of Trustees awarded five college professors with promotions or tenure at its recent meeting. "These professors have spent years with our students in and out of the classroom as not just teachers, but mentors as well," said Vice President for Academic Affairs and Academic Dean Timothy Houlihan. "We are proud to honor their commitment to St. Francis College and to our students with these promotions."

Academy Award-Nominated Screenwriter Shaka King in Discussion With St. Francis College's Ben Snyder
Shaka King, director and co-screenwriter of the 2021 Academy Award-nominated film "Judas and the Black Messiah," will discuss his work and career with screenwriter and playwright Ben Snyder, the dramatic writing coordinator for St. Francis College's MFA program, on May 6 at 7 p.m., as the latest guest in the College's Write in Brooklyn discussion series.

Dr. John Kruse of Neumann University will deliver the Franciscan lecture, "How Becoming a Franciscan Peacemaker through Generosity Can Save the World," in which he will draw from the lives of Francis and Clare to address how an attitude of letting go can heal relationships in an era rife with division, tension, and conflict.

When St. Francis College Accounting Professor Carmine Nogara talks to his class this spring about government accounting he will have a whole new perspective on the subject. Today, Nogara will be sworn in to begin serving on the Glen Rock, New Jersey Borough Council.

St. Francis Professor Edits New Collection of Award Winning Authors
St. Francis College English Professor Gregory F. Tague is pleased to announce the publication of Pain and Memory: Reflections on the Strength of the Human Spirit in Suffering (Editions Bibliotekos), a book of creative prose and poetry falling under the literary theme of medical humanities. The book, which was carefully edited by Prof. Tague, features twenty-five selections by eighteen accomplished and award-winning authors. Assisting in the publication process was St. Francis English Major Paul E. Benkert. John F. Lennon, Assistant Professor of English, wrote the Foreword to the collection.

St. Francis College to Hold Winter Commencement on January 21st
St. Francis College will host this year's Winter Commencement on January 21st, immediately following a Baccalaureate Mass at St. James Cathedral Basilica in Brooklyn.The College will graduate approximately 150 undergraduate and graduate students this winter. Approximately 75 are expected to take part in the Commencement ceremony.
