Prize Winning Author Marlon James Anchors New Low-Res MFA in Creative Writing
St. Francis College now offers the opportunity to become part of that writing scene with its new MFA in Creative Writing beginning July 5 and led by new faculty member Marlon James, the 2015 Man Booker Prize winner for his novel A Brief History of Seven Killings.

Previously incarcerated students from St. Francis College's Post-Prison Program followed a May 1, 2017 screening of Rikers: An American Jail with a frank discussion on their experiences behind bars, at Rikers and other institutions, and their time now on the cusp of earning an undergraduate degree.

St. Francis College hosted Professor of History Joseph Dorinson (LIU) for a talk on the legacy of Jackie Robinson on April 5, 2017, nearly 70 years after Robinson broke the color barrier in Major League Baseball and played for the Brooklyn Dodgers.

2nd Annual Women's Film Festival
After reviewing over 1,000 submissions, the 2nd Annual St. Francis College Women's Film Festival screened 60 films from 27 countries over two days in the College's Founders Hall.
