Biennial Conference: Society for 18th Century Music
St. Francis College proudly hosted the Fourth Biennial Meeting of the Society for Eighteenth-Century Music from April 8 – 11, with events throughout the College and across New York City. The conference, which was dedicated to the memory of the scholar H. C. Robbins Landon, attracted fifty-one registrants arrived from New Zealand, Austria, Canada, and across the United States for classical performances and presentations of cutting-edge research on topics ranging from reports on newly discovered manuscripts to fresh information on composers' lives, to revised interpretation of their works.

Feminist Author & Activist Jennifer Baumgardner Brings Message to SFC
When Jennifer Baumgardner was growing up in the culturally and ethnically homogenous area of North Dakota she said it was very easy for her and her family to take some progressive stances on issues like civil rights and gay rights, she told a crowded Maroney Forum on Thursday, March 25 as a guest speaker brought by the St. Francis College Women's Studies Minor.

Syllabus on Contemporary Islam Recognized at National Level
The Honors Program at St. Francis College has experienced remarkable growth in size and stature over the past few years under the direction Dr. Jaskiran Mathur Associate Professor of Sociology & Criminal Justice. Now, The National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC) has recognized the work of Dr. Mathur and St. Francis College Economics Professor Dr. Behrouz Tabrizi for the creation of their Honors Seminar, 'Contemporary Islam: Its Socio-Economic Context'.

St. Francis Grad Marion D. White '78 Honored at State Reception
St. Francis College alumnae and Executive Director of the Child Abuse Prevention Program (CAPP) Marion D. White '78 was honored with the Alumni Hall of Distinction Award for her contributions to New York State's economy by the Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities (CICU) on Monday, March 1 at the New York State Capital in Albany.
