St. Francis College announced today two new programs that will allow qualified pre-medicine or pre-veterinary students to gain streamlined admission to St. George University’s Schools of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine.

For the third year in a row, St. Francis College was named by Forbes.com to their list of America's Best Colleges. The Forbes.com list is an exclusive ranking, which includes only the top 9% of accredited post-secondary institutions across the country.

Members of the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society will receive an annual $500 Scholarship when they transfer as a full-time student to St. Francis College. Local PTK chapters at community colleges invite students to become members when they meet certain academic criteria, which generally includes achieving a3.5 grade point average.

St. Francis College, a distinguished Franciscan institution in the heart of Brooklyn, today announced the addition of two new members to its Board of Trustees: accomplished entrepreneur Arkell Cox and retired NBA stand-out and business executive Charles D. Smith Jr.

It is with much sadness that St. Francis College announces the passing of Brother George Larkin, O.S.F. this morning, August 17, 2009. Bro. George graduated from St. Francis College in 1960, returning in 1971 to spend more than 35 years in the admissions office, personally recruiting tens of thousands of young men and women who went on to attend the College.

Concerts at Half Past Twelve returns for the second performance of the spring series, with members of the acclaimed Repast Baroque Ensemble performing music from the Golden Age of Dresden, a period in the early and mid-eighteenth century during which composers in the German city created some of the most timeless Baroque music.

St. Francis College now houses the first Troops to Teachers (TTT) office in New York State, thanks to a collaboration between the College and the New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE), and a grant from the federal government.

St. Francis College is one 67 higher-education institutions selected by the U.S. Department of Education (DOE) to take part in the expanded Second Chance Pell Sites Initiative, a program that allows incarcerated women and men to use federal financial aid for college education.
