Now That We're Men: Performance & Talk

Much of the public conversation on sexuality is focused on women and how they need to behave, but playwright Katie Cappiello (Slut: The Play) turns the talk back on men, speaking directly to them with her new play, Now That We're Men, which was performed fives time at a special engagement at St. Francis College in October and November in the College's Maroney Forum for Arts Culture & Education.

SFC Holds 10th Annual Great American Smokeout

NYC Smoke-Free collaborated with St. Francis College in Brooklyn Heights to encourage smokers on campus and in the larger community to quit for one day and to raise awareness of the importance of smoke-free protections in creating environments where quit attempts are more likely to be successful.

SFC to Celebrate New Graduate May 24

Hundreds of graduates from the St. Francis College Class of 2017 will be joined by family and friends for the College's spring 2017 commencement ceremony on Pier 2 at Brooklyn Bridge Park on Wednesday, May 24 at 11:00am. A Baccalaureate Mass will be held the night before at 6:00pm at St. Joseph's Co-Cathedral in Brooklyn.

Previously incarcerated students from St. Francis College's Post-Prison Program followed a May 1, 2017 screening of Rikers: An American Jail with a frank discussion on their experiences behind bars, at Rikers and other institutions, and their time now on the cusp of earning an undergraduate degree.

An Examination of the Language Used in the Sandra Bland Traffic Stop

It started out as a normal traffic stop and days later ended with the suicide of Sandra Bland. St. Francis College Sociology & Criminal Justice Professor Belen Lowrey-Kinberg examined that traffic stop from a new perspective, looking at the words used by Bland and the arresting officer.
