NEW YORK, February 22, 2007 – St. Francis College today announced the official launch of a new partnership among St. Francis and 42 other leading higher education institutions in the region, along with their first product: an easily accessible, comprehensive job bank of academic opportunities in the greater New York City and southern Connecticut region, accessible at http://www.mnyscherc.org.

St. Francis Hosts Ahaa's Symposium on American Art
More than 100 professors, grad students, independent scholars, and museum professionals from across the country and as far away as Paris, Francs came to St. Francis College for the Association of Historians of American Art's (AHAA) first even independent symposium, "Current Research in American Art" from October 7 to 9.

Students, faculty and leaders of St. Francis Xavier School and St. Francis College gathered on a sunny, Tuesday morning, May 3, to celebrate the partnership between the two institutions. The goal of the partnership is to share the higher education resources of the top ranked St. Francis College with the students of St. Francis Xavier.

A week-long celebration of the Franciscan spirit concluded Saturday, October 4 with a collection of St. Francis College students volunteering to arrange floral decoration for senior citizen shut-ins around Brooklyn. The flowers were donated through a partnership with the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership and elderly service organization, Heights and Hills.

St. Francis Senior Fellow's Boon on President Obama Makes 2012 Book List
Barack Obama in Hawaii and Indonesia: The Making of a Global President (Praeger), a multicultural biography of U.S. President Barack Obama written by Dinesh Sharma, a Senior Fellow at the Institute for International and Cross-Cultural Research at St. Francis College, made the Top 10 list for Black History Nonfiction for 2012.

Exploring Brooklyn's Past: St. Francis Teams With Brooklyn Historical Society
In the dark, wood-paneled library of the Brooklyn Historical Society, students in Eric Platt's history class pulled on pristine white gloves and began to pore over delicate black and white photos laid out on long tables. Some of the photographs — dating back to around 1900 — are grainy family portraits taken on the Coney Island boardwalk and printed on iron sheets. Later photos, taken in the 1980s in the same location, show graffiti-scarred, dilapidated buildings.
