The two-day event, set to take place on March 31 and April 1, will bring together academics, activists, public officials and formerly incarcerated individuals to discuss life after prison.

On April 13, the National Endowment for the Humanities announced that Dr. Augusta Palmer, chair of the Communication Arts department, had been awarded a $291,480 grant to complete her documentary film “The Blues Society.”

On September 6, St. Francis College welcomed new and returning students and employees at the annual convocation and Terrier Tuesday party. These two events marked the community opening of SFC’s brand-new campus at 179 Livingston Street in Downtown Brooklyn.

This semester, St. Francis College launched its first master’s degree program in education, the M.S.Ed. in special education, for which there is considerable demand throughout New York City and State.

The week will run from October 2 through 7 and feature a variety of events on campus and off site.

Assistant professors of biology Michael Tessler and Emily Herstoff are the lead authors of a scientific paper on small-scale conservation that was published earlier this month in the journal "Microbial Ecology."

The monies will be used to support scholarships for nursing students and nursing-program faculty residencies at St. Francis College.

St. Francis College Literary Prize Winner Aleksandar Hemon began his day long visit with the students, faculty and administrators of St. Francis College with a guest lecture and concluded with a reading of a short story from his award winning book, Love and Obstacles.
