Visiting Professor Fred Siegel Brings Wealth of Experience

With one semester complete and another just beginning, Visiting Professor Fred Siegel, Ph. D. has had an immediate impact on the students and community at St. Francis College. Siegel, who is currently on sabbatical from Cooper Union for Science and Art is a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute, contributing editor to City Journal and prolific writer of articles and editorial pieces that cut to the heart of New York politics and economics.

St. Francis Professor Edits New Collection of Award Winning Authors

St. Francis College English Professor Gregory F. Tague is pleased to announce the publication of Pain and Memory: Reflections on the Strength of the Human Spirit in Suffering (Editions Bibliotekos), a book of creative prose and poetry falling under the literary theme of medical humanities. The book, which was carefully edited by Prof. Tague, features twenty-five selections by eighteen accomplished and award-winning authors. Assisting in the publication process was St. Francis English Major Paul E. Benkert. John F. Lennon, Assistant Professor of English, wrote the Foreword to the collection.

St. Francis Accounting Professor Carmine Nogara Elected to Borough Council

When St. Francis College Accounting Professor Carmine Nogara talks to his class this spring about government accounting he will have a whole new perspective on the subject. Today, Nogara will be sworn in to begin serving on the Glen Rock, New Jersey Borough Council.

Project Access: Offering Opportunities, Achieving Success

When the drive to attend college doesn't match test scores, many schools shut their doors and prospective students get discouraged. But St. Francis College, through its Project Access program, has been working for several years now to identify students who, when given the chance and added support, can become successful at the next level. Several people who represent those successes as well as students currently enrolled in Project Access came to St. Francis College to talk about how all their hard work has paid off.

Santa Visits St. Francis for Road Runners Youth Program

The holidays came early for more than 200 New York Road Runners Youth Programs (NYRRYP) kids who received gifts of running shoes from a visiting Santa. On Saturday at St. Francis College in Brooklyn, kids from six Mighty Milers and Young Runners sites gathered to eat pizza, play games and do hip-hop with Mr. and Mrs. Santa Clause's kid Rocky, the St. Francis mascot.
