SFC Radio Prepares to Sign Off from Remsen
On April 28, SFC Radio will air its final broadcast from 180 Remsen Street in the form of an end-of-semester listening party highlighting music from throughout the six decades that St. Francis College's Brooklyn Heights campus has been in existence.

SFC Tv Premieres on St. Francis College Website
When almost 200 students from East New York Prep Charter School spent the day at St. Francis College, a camera and two St. Francis Communications Arts students captured the experience, turning the video and interviews into a story like any seen on a local newscast. It was the latest effort from SFC TV, a burgeoning collection of news stories and features about St. Francis College; reported, shot and produced by the College's students.

SFC on Leading Edge for College Student Retention
St. Francis College, proud to be on the leading edge for college student retention, will be sharing some of its successful programs at the National Symposium on Student Retention next week in Buffalo. Monica Michalski, Assistant Dean Freshman Studies & Academic Enhancement and Steven Catalano, Director of Institutional Research and Planning will present their paper, "Improving Student Persistence and Success: A Data-Driven Approach."

SFC Academic Center Dedicated to Frank & Mary Macchiarola
It was at last year's Spring Commencement when then St. Francis College Board of Trustees Chairman Brendan J. Dugan '68 surprised Frank J. '62 and Mary Macchiarola with the announcement that the College's new Academic Center would be adorned with their names in honor and appreciation of their commitment and contributions to the College. Now, as President of the College, Mr. Dugan formally dedicated the Frank and Mary Macchiarola Academic Center with a special celebration on Friday, September 25.

As Pope Benedict XVI concluded his final day as worldwide leader of the Catholic Church, Bro. Geoffrey Clement appeared on WNBC Nonstop to talk about the pending conclave. He discussed the process for selecting the new Pope as well as significant past conclaves.

SFC Professor Publishes Article on Phony Halloween Fears
St. Francis College Sociology and Criminal Justice Professor Emily Horowitz wrote a piece for The Huffington Post entitled, "Manufacturing Fear: Halloween Laws for Sex Offenders." In the article she writes about new laws and proposals that are aimed at reducing a threat to children that she says does not exist.

St. Francis is proud to now offer a new four year BSN program for undergraduates, which is fully accredited by CCNE, the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, and is now looking for candidates who meet the undergraduate requirements.
